The word mural originates from the Latin word “murus”, meaning “wall”. Today, we can define murals as any piece of artwork painted or applied directly onto a wall, ceiling or other larger permanent surface.

Humans have been drawing on walls for a VERY long time! The Chauvet Caves, [using C14 analysis] have been dated back to 30,000-32,000 years ago!

Over 1,000 images have been inventoried from these caves, featuring animals, flora & hand/footprints!
